Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operational Risk Manager to join our team at China CITIC Bank International Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risk in assigned areas, as well as conducting root cause analysis and benchmarking to recommend improvements to our control processes and business operating models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Risk Management: Facilitate the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risk in assigned areas, ensuring that risk trends are monitored and reported to senior management.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Benchmarking: Conduct thorough root cause analysis and benchmarking to recommend improvements to our control processes and business operating models.
  • Internal Control Assurance: Formulate and execute periodic and ad hoc internal control assurance plans, ensuring that risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) is conducted in a timely and effective manner.
  • Reporting and Recommendations: Prepare internal control assessment reports and recommend rectification or remedial actions to be taken.
  • Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA): Review RCSA to identify key operational risks and effective mitigation actions/measures.
  • Thematic/Ad Hoc Review: Conduct thematic/ad hoc review/gap analysis as assigned by Supervisor(s).
  • Risk Events/Incidents: Review risk events/incidents and customer complaints with regulatory and compliance concerns.
  • Risk Awareness: Promote business operational risk awareness through training and development of training materials and approaches.
  • Cross Functional Coordination: Coordinate and assure proper execution of bank/PBG-wide risk & compliance initiatives.
  • Assistance to Department/Team Head: Assist the department/team head in risk and control related matters.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree holder in Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in related to retail banking operations risk management or relevant compliance or audit with in-depth knowledge of bancassurance practices and regulated banking activities preferable.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Good understanding and knowledge of business operational risk and internal control principles; ability to assess risk trends. Preferably possess/core or professional level of qualification under the HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) on Operational Risk Management (ORM).
  • Language: Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
