Energy and Infrastructure Credit Research Director

At Sun Life, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director / Senior Director, Energy and Infrastructure Credit Research, Asia. This role will be responsible for providing thought leadership and analytical guidance on energy and infrastructure credit research in Asia.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of energy and infrastructure sectors in Asia, including current and future trends, drivers, and issuer-specific factors.
- Assess and analyze credit and ESG profiles of issuers in the energy and infrastructure sectors, and provide investment recommendations to the investment team.
- Collaborate with analysts across the region to ensure research rigor and global consistency, and help develop and maintain forced ranking models to evaluate credit and ESG fundamentals of issuers.
- Represent Sun Life Asia in various engagements, including engagement efforts with investor coalitions and utilities names undergoing energy transition.
- Participate and contribute to various investment initiatives and projects led by RO Investments to support the development of new capabilities in the region.
- Advanced degree in economics, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in credit analysis of energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, with ability to speak a second or third language fluently.
- Familiarity with Rating Agencies and their methodologies, as well as third-party data providers like Bloomberg and Capital iQ.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with aptitude for quantitative analysis.
- Ability to combine fundamental credit views with relative value analysis and ESG/Sustainability issues to produce an investment recommendation.
