Computer Technician II(s)
The Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) is seeking qualified candidates to deliver essential services for the University’s Data Centres.
The selected individuals will be integrated into the Central Operations Team and will be expected to undertake shift work, which may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute infrastructure service desk operations to manage incident resolution and request processing;
- Oversee network and system performance, ensuring timely fault reporting and escalation in line with established procedures;
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of network, hardware systems, and data centre infrastructure;
- Carry out daily operational tasks, including asset management within the data centre, managing access requests, job submissions, data backups, report generation, cable patching, and other housekeeping activities related to networks, systems, and data centres.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
(i) a relevant Diploma or Certificate in Computing or a related field from a recognized institution;
(ii) experience in network, systems, or data centre operations;
(iii) a strong commitment to adhering to shift duty protocols;
(iv) effective communication and interpersonal skills.
The initial appointment will be on a 2-year contract basis, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and mutual agreement.
