Job Description

The Financial Director will be responsible for the accurate and effective reporting of the branch's financial position and performance, including financial accounting and reporting, regulatory reporting and management accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Ledger System Management: Monitor the day-to-day production, control and reconciliation of the general ledger system and report any irregularities to ITD and related functional units for rectification;
  • Month-End Closing: Control the processing of month-end closing of ledger system;
  • Expense Control: Oversee the production of expenses payment processing and perform expense control according to relevant Bank's policies or procedure manuals;
  • Regulatory Reporting: Drive, coordinate and manage all preparation and submission of regulatory reporting (including banking returns, and ad hoc reports) to regulators (including HKMA, CBIRC);
  • Internal Controls: Establish and implement operating procedures to ensure proper internal controls in regulatory compliance related areas;
  • Accounting Procedures: Review, streamline and enhance all accounting procedures to ensure effective operation in the department;
  • MIS Preparation: Prepare necessary MIS for financial management purposes;
  • Technical Advice: Propose technical advice on matters of financial reporting and regulatory compliance for new products or for investment decision making;
  • Reporting Infrastructure: Oversee the reporting infrastructure for reports requested by the parent bank and ensure accurate and timely submission of relevant reports;
  • Tax Affairs: Oversee all tax affairs, including the production of tax computation and filing;
  • Audit Liaison: Liaise with auditors for external audit on financials and related internal control system.
