About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Business Operations Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing critical support to the Chief Investment Officer, Public Sector Region 2 & Project and Corporate Finance, Global (CIO2) in overseeing AIIB's investment operations with public sector clients in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asia, East Asia, West Asia, Europe, North Africa, and the America; and project and corporate finance clients focusing on private infrastructure and other productive sectors in all AIIB Members.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Act as an interface between the Office of CIO2 and departments reporting to CIO2, as well as other departments and offices in the Bank, ensuring seamless communication and achieving efficiency in business planning and management.
  2. Assist in developing and managing the CIO2 business plan, budget, and staffing plan, consolidating, coordinating, and preparing briefing notes and reports.
  3. Provide coordination support to the Office of CIO2 in developing business plan objectives, supporting regular operations, and implementing the business plan and budget, following up on critical initiatives and program progress.
  4. Serve as Secretariat of CIO2 management team meetings and focal point of CIO2 for the Investment Committee, Screening Committee, Executive Committee, Investment Operations Management Committee, Board of Directors, and other committees, assisting in preparing relevant briefing notes and presentations in consultation with other departments and offices in the Bank.
  5. Liaise with the Office of the President, CIO1, VPIS, VP for Policy and Strategy, Office of the Secretary, Communications Department, and other key departments as needed.
  6. Organize or coordinate region-wide activities, including retreats, quarterly meetings, workshops, conferences, and other activities led by the Office of CIO2.
  7. Conduct research and analysis, contributing to preparing briefing notes, presentations, meeting briefs, and speeches for CIO2.
  8. Organize internal meetings, track follow-ups, and facilitate information sharing.
  9. Lead team-building initiatives and foster cross-department collaboration.
  10. Undertake additional assignments as directed by the Office of the CIO2.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 3-5 years in business management within multilateral development banks or international organizations. Experience in an executive's front office at a development finance institution or international bank is desirable. Relevant roles such as financial analyst, associate, or credit specialist will also be considered.
  2. Skills & Adaptability: Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Positive attitude toward change, with the ability to quickly integrate feedback under pressure.
  3. Ability to adapt and multi-task based on business needs to bridge resource/skills gaps and keep several business initiatives moving forward.
  4. Coordination & Initiative: Excellent coordination skills, adaptability to different roles based on business needs, and ability to bridge resource/skills gaps to keep initiatives on track.
  5. Work Ethic: Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
  6. Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with Region II (East, Central, and West Asia; Middle East; Africa; Latin America) is an advantage.
  7. Language Skills: Strong English communication skills (written and oral).
  8. Education: Master's degree (or equivalent) in business administration, economics, or public administration.
