Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Governance Specialist to join our team at SMBC Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our Data Governance Framework, ensuring that our data assets are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Data Governance Framework, including policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure data quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain data classifications, data dictionaries, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality controls.
  • Manage and maintain all Data Governance related documentation.
  • Facilitate the adoption of Data Governance tools, processes, and standards.
  • Develop metrics and reports to measure key performance indicators such as data quality, accuracy, and completeness.

Requirements:

  • Degree Holder with qualifications related to data governance and management.
  • 4-5 years' direct experience in data governance and management.
  • Experience working in consulting firms for banks and financial institutions, or working closely with consulting firms on data governance and management related projects.
  • Knowledge of related ordinances and trends in data policy and procedures.
  • Multi-tasked and attention to details.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player.
  • High sense of responsibility and reliability.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Cantonese, with proficiency in Japanese a plus.
