As a Raw Material Technician at Calvin Klein, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and sustainability in our brand fabric. With a strong background in R&D and product development, you will source seasonal design requests with vendors and offer creative solutions that align with our brand aesthetic and cost structure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Manager, Raw Materials – Fabric and trims' developments, to drive innovation, sustainability, delivery, quality, speed, and cost.
  • Review and maintain material detail sheets, testing reports, and certification.
  • Negotiate prices and lead times with suppliers.
  • Provide technical input from development to production, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Identify potential savings opportunities and support cost savings initiatives.
  • Work closely with the testing team to ensure quality compliance.
  • Support in preparing business data reports and maintaining reports pertaining to materials.
  • Prepare PVH training materials for suppliers in support of the PVH GQM.
  • Build relationships with suppliers.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the manager.
Decision Making:
  • Prepare material swatches and coordinates raw materials to send to the New York office counterpart.
  • Maintain the material library.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Post-secondary degree with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in material merchandising across fabrics and soft/hard trims. A textile major is preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of knit fabric and functional elastics is a must. Additional experience on woven fabrics and hard trims is an advantage.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to get to the root cause analysis.
  • Must be detailed-oriented, resourceful, have excellent follow-up skills, and be able to learn and use all appropriate contacts to gather information and drive solutions.
  • Must be flexible and able to function in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • MS Office, Outlook are basic. Preferable has experience on Excel & PLM/Centric.
  • Excellent communication, written, and verbal English skills.
