Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Firewall Operations to lead our network and security engineering and operations team. As a key member of our Group Technology team, you will be responsible for driving key initiatives, ensuring alignment with Group information security standards, and delivering technical and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the setup and development of processes and SOPs for network and firewall operations
  • Drive emerging network and firewall solutions and services from projects to BAU operations
  • Research and define key areas of improvement on existing network and firewall solutions and services
  • Define and drive key process improvements for existing solutions
  • Manage the planning for resources to deliver BAU operations
  • Be the key interface with stakeholders and vendors for transition of new initiatives/solutions/services
  • Define, review, and advise on handover BAU requirements
  • Drive close collaboration across functional teams to identify key risk factors and deliver technical and functional requirements
  • Contribute to devising the next-generation network automation and security strategy
  • Manage and implement projects and technology upgrades
  • Manage vendor relationships and set performance quality
  • Align requirements to Group Security standards and compliances
  • Provide technical domain guidance and expertise to stakeholders and business units

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in Network Security Management role, preferably in Financial Services
  • Bachelor's Degree from Information Technology or any equivalent discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in implementing and supporting firewall with orchestration/automation technology
  • Knowledge and experience on Cloud & Network Automation
  • Lead a team of at least three network/firewall engineers in a medium to large enterprise environment
  • Certifications in CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or similar would be an added advantage

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Firewall Products: Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco
  • Analyzer & Management Tools: Algosec, Skybox, Panorama, CPSM
  • Familiar with Cloud technology providers such as Azure and AWS
  • Certifications or official training on any of the above would be an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of Automation/AI/Machine Learning to simplify operations
  • Experience in leveraging on Third Party Platforms such as ServiceNow to perform automation/orchestration

Purpose

Lead and drive key initiatives under network and security engineering and operations as well as act as the deep technical and functional expert of various network and firewall platforms, for Group Office and across all business units, and ensure alignment and compliance with Group information security standards and requirements as well as FWD Group technology strategy, policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the setup from defining, establishing, development and operationalising the processes and SOPs to managing the Network and firewall Operations team for key initiatives including network and Cloud Firewalls
  • Lead, drive and oversee the emerging Network and firewall solutions and services from projects to BAU operations
  • Lead, oversee and ensure smooth transition of Network and Firewall solutions and services from project sign-off to BAU
  • Research, identify and define key areas of improvement on existing Network and firewall solutions and services such as Firewall and Network management, primarily to adopt AI/automation and simplify operations
  • Define and drive key process improvement for existing solutions by working closely with internal teams within Group IT Security and vendors
  • A adopt a secondary role as the subject matter expert for Network Service Transition, Continuity, and Improvement
  • Manage the planning for resources to deliver BAU operations in the most efficient and effective manner
  • Be the key interface with fellow stakeholders and respective vendors and manage the overall transition of new initiatives/solutions/services from project delivery to BAU
  • Define, review and advise on the handover BAU requirements including guidelines, baselines and SOPs for Group Network and Firewall Operations, to manage the implemented IT network firewall solutions and controls
  • Drive close collaboration across functional teams within Group Technology to identify key and address risk factors as well as deliver technical and functional requirements and Group Technology objectives
  • Contribute to devising the next generation network automation, and security strategy to meet the future needs of the Business
  • Manage and implement projects and technology upgrades including evaluation /recommendations for network-related tools and solutions
  • Manage vendors relationships and set and monitor the overall performance quality of vendors
  • Align requirements to Group Security standards and compliances, along with overall IT Strategy needs
  • Provide technical domain guidance and expertise to stakeholders and business units as and when needed with regards to Network and firewall services
  • A adopt a Cloud-first strategic mindset on deliverables
  • Provide regular Network and Firewall Operations updates for management reporting

Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum 8 years working experience in Network Security Management role, preferably in Financial Services
