Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to lead our Linux infrastructure team. As a key member of our DevOps team, you will be responsible for overseeing project-based initiatives and day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical proficiency, detail-oriented skills, and a passion for learning new technologies. This role requires a positive attitude, especially during challenging situations, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

  • Proactively maintain and enhance Linux infrastructure technology to ensure 24x7 service availability.
  • Implement best practices for managing systems and services across various environments.
  • Provide L1, L2, and L3-level server support in alignment with current team protocols.
  • Manage, coordinate, and execute software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes on servers.
  • Develop and modify scripts or applications to automate tasks effectively.
  • Offer insights for improving the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create automation strategies and deployment processes.
  • Provide weekend support for scheduled changes as needed.
  • Offer on-call support during off-hours when required.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) drills.
  • Manage physical server infrastructure remotely.
  • Oversee maintenance of virtual machines within internal ESX farms and cloud environments (AWS).
  • Build new physical and virtual servers according to established standards.
  • Conduct fault analysis using logging information for performance reporting.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and engage in capacity planning.
  • Maintain knowledge of servers using cluster software and databases.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Linux Administrator.
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, or similar technologies deployed in internal infrastructure.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Linux, particularly RedHat, in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Hands-on experience with physical and virtual server deployments.
  • Familiarity with various server hardware and architecture, preferably HPE or equivalent.
  • Expertise in automation tools like Ansible, along with scripting capabilities in Shell, Perl, and Python.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Veritas Cluster and Veritas Storage Foundation is an advantage.
  • Experience with tools such as BigFix, OneView, ITRS, ServiceNow, SCOM, and CyberArk is desirable.
Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of container technologies, including Tanzu and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration concepts.
  • Understanding of VMware and Storage Area Network (SAN) management and principles.
