Job Description

The Fitness Centre Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the exercise centre, ensuring supervision, cleanliness, and safety. This includes maintaining a safe environment, inspecting equipment, providing routine upkeep, and reporting issues to facilities management and the Director of Activities & Athletics.

The supervisor will administer fitness orientations, develop programs to meet the varied needs of students and adults, and collaborate with our athletic trainer, physical education department, and sports coaches to integrate resistance training into physical education classes and athletic programs.

  • Supervise users (e.g. students, colleagues, and guests) to maintain a safe and positive atmosphere.
  • Routinely walk around the facility areas to ensure proper machines and equipment.
  • Enforce rules, regulations, protocols, and safety standards to minimize accidents and injuries.

Key Responsibilities: Fitness Centre and Exercise Room Supervision, Equipment and Room Maintenance, Fitness Programs, Rehabilitation and First Responder, Other Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications: Education: Certified in Sports Science, Sports Management, or Sports Coaching; Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience training students and adults with various fitness levels; Skills: Ability to work with students under the age of 18, knowledge and skill in using varied athletic and fitness equipment
