Job Description:

The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a premier cultural institution dedicated to showcasing the finest artefacts from Palace Museum's collections. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning and implementation of HKPM's Chinese object study training programme. This includes workshops, lectures, and study visits, as well as day-to-day administrative tasks such as preparing legal agreements, project memos, and plans. You will also be responsible for managing project calendars, tracking progress, and coordinating with various teams within the museum.

About the Role:
This is a fixed-term contract position of 2 years with the possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance. As a successful candidate, you will possess a recognised university degree in a relevant field, such as Chinese art history and archaeology, heritage/collection management, or conservation/conservation science. You will also have strong interests in Chinese art and culture, preferably with some knowledge about working directly with art objects in museums, universities, or other organisations. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience conducting research or teaching, and/or project/event management or coordination is required. Proficiency in office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat, is essential. Good problem-solving skills, communication skills, and proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese are also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of HKPM's Chinese object study training programme
  • Conducting day-to-day administrative tasks, including preparing legal agreements, project memos and plans, emails and letters; interim reports and regular reports
  • Managing project calendars and keeping track of the progress of the projects
  • Coordinating with the Museum's Curatorial Affairs, Conservation and Collection, Learning and Engagement and other teams
