Assistant Project Manager, Curatorial Programs

Responsibilities:

This role will provide comprehensive administrative support to the planning and implementation of the HKPM's Chinese object study training program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing logistical support for workshops, lectures, and study visits;
  • Preparing and submitting project proposals, budget reports, and other documentation as required;
  • Organizing travel arrangements and visa applications for project participants;
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders, including scholars, professors, and sponsors;
  • Managing project timelines and tracking progress against milestones;
  • Preparing and submitting regular progress reports to the supervisor;
  • Assisting with event planning, logistics, and execution;
  • Providing administrative support for the Learning and Engagement team in planning and implementing public-facing projects related to the HKPM's Chinese object study training program;
  • Undertaking other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the Curatorial Affairs and other sections.

Requirements:

  • Possess a recognized university degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Possess strong interests in Chinese art and culture, and preferably some knowledge about working directly with art objects in museums, universities, or other organizations;
  • Preferably have 5 years or more of relevant work experience conducting research or teaching, and/or project/event management or coordination;
  • Possess proficiency in office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat;
  • Possess good problem-solving skills and communication skills;
  • Possess proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with good command of Putonghua;
  • Pay attention to details and be self-motivated and organized;
  • Be available and willing to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, for events if necessary.
