Job Purpose:

This role is part of the Data Governance & Quality Management domain, responsible for serving as the primary contact point for governance, data quality, and protection issues. Collaborate with Business and Function area leadership to enhance the quality and value of core data assets, aligning with strategic data requirements and providing guidance on data analytics projects from a data governance perspective.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and oversee the execution of data governance and management policies, guidelines, and controls, ensuring annual reviews and updates.
  • Roll out a bank-wide data governance framework, focusing on improvements in data quality and protection of sensitive data by modifying organizational behavior, policies, and standards.
  • Analyze compliance requirements, assess the current state of various data management areas, identify data risks, and address control or compliance gaps.
  • Support the Data Governance Committee in driving data governance initiatives aligned with the bank's data strategies, providing regular progress reports.
  • Participate in the Data Analytics Center of Excellence to execute the bank's data strategy and management in all data-driven business initiatives.
  • Contribute to data projects from a data governance perspective, offering guidance to ensure secure, private, accurate, available, and usable data throughout its lifecycle.
  • Foster the definition of data domains, critical data elements, data standards, and identification of data owners to promote improved data quality.
  • Develop and implement data quality monitoring, data standards, data governance tools, and adoption requirements across the bank, defining corresponding indicators of performance.
  • Manage organizational data risks and issues, coordinating with data owners to resolve them.
  • Design training and activities to promote an organizational awareness and culture of data governance across People, Process, and Technology.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Data Governance from recognized establishments in the financial services and/or banking sector.
  • Experience in establishing and monitoring data governance frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-leading data quality and data protection management practices.
  • Thorough understanding of local regulatory environments, preferably GBA.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business, and technology issues related to enterprise information assets and approaches to data protection.
  • Advanced analytical skills, able to visualize opportunities and issues from data.
  • Proficiency in SQL, ETL, Microsoft Tools (Power BI, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).
  • Ability to manage and communicate with senior stakeholders.
  • Preferably experienced in Data Analytics, Python, AI, ML, or Data Platform implementation.
  • Professional qualifications such as Certified Banker (CB) or ECF in Cybersecurity/Fintech are preferable.
