Job Description – Patient Care Assistant II (Integrated Rehabilitation Centre – Occupational Therapy) (HKCH ) Patient Care Assistant II (Integrated Rehabilitation Centre – Occupational Therapy) (REF. NO. HKCH ) Key Responsibilities To assist Occupational Therapists to: Preparing venue and equipment for treatment. Facilitate patients to participate in individual session(s) and group session(s). Carry out therapeutic activities, outreach services and rehabilitation groups under OT’s supervision. Maintain cleanliness, tidiness of clinical areas and workshops of Occupational Therapy. Maintenance of equipment, tools and materials of treatment. Inventory checking, stock maintenance and procurement process. To provide technical assistance and support to Occupational Therapists in: Development of material for educational program and therapeutic activities. Production of sewing projects, pressure garments and assistive devices for patients. Fabrication of rehabilitation devices, adapt equipment and furniture to facilitate rehabilitation outcome. Knowledge and skills in metalwork (optional). To perform independent operation of computers and data input for rehabilitation and clinical management purpose. To perform appointment booking, collection of revenue and handle patient enquiries. To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors. Entry Requirements Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent. Completed structured departmental training (See Remarks 2). Preferred Attributes Sound knowledge and skills in sewing, or metal work & woodwork; and basic computer applications. Obtained certificate / received relevant training in Occupational Therapy / Rehabilitation service or equivalent. Holding certificate of the Health Care Assistant Course / Care-related Support Worker Course accredited by HA. (See Remarks 3). Possess working experience in patient care. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Good PC skills & knowledge in common softwares such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other MS Office applications. Pleasant and mature with strong sense of responsibility. Able to work independently, with good communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2), if found suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training including the structured departmental training. Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.
