Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Manager/Manager for Admissions Outreach (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I/II) in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 530805) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance).
Minimum Requirements:
- A good university degree, preferably a Master’s degree.
- At least 10 years’ work and supervisory experience in the higher education sector, preferably in student recruitment and outreach, admissions, public speaking, event management or strategic communications.
- Excellent communication skills with exceptional command of English and Chinese.
- Ability to work proficiently with significant independence and lead a team.
- Strong analytical thinking and sound judgement.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The appointees will be responsible for the development and implementation of admissions-related outreach activities, including summer and broadening programmes, and in-person and virtual outreach and engagement events. They will lead a team of junior staff members, manage the student ambassador programme, deliver social media initiatives, and act as a liaison point between internal and external parties regarding student engagement and outreach. As ambassadors for HKUMed, they will represent the Faculty at various student recruitment events and presentations, provide holistic support and admissions counselling services, and engage current and prospective students. They will also work closely with internal teams to devise and create robust, multi-channel messaging used for student recruitment purposes for undergraduate programmes. The appointees will be expected to exercise flexibility to perform other duties as assigned in support of the Faculty's mission, core values and goals. Working outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AA I and 10% of basic salary for AA II.
