About the Role

The Executive Director, Acquisition Finance North Asia position is a leadership role to support delivery and execution of the Corporate Finance International strategy. This role is responsible for origination, structuring, delivery and overseeing execution the capabilities of the North Asia Acquisition Finance Team in delivering leverage and acquisition finance solutions to clients across North Asia, and the International network. This role will also involve a high level of interaction with clients, Relationship Managers, Risk and other key stakeholders.

What will your day look like?

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead origination and execution of the Corporate Finance International strategic plan, financial targets related to the region.
  • Deliver ANZ clients competitive and superior leveraged and acquisition financing solutions that are consistent with Business Writing Strategy and Country Lending Guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Product Partners to develop and execute meaningful Account Plans which maximise cross sell and utilise asset finance as a differentiated 'lead' product for target customers.
  • Build upon and strengthen effective relationships with Sponsors and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic discussions at senior client levels focussing on growth priorities for Corporate Finance International and opportunities to increase wallet share.
  • Drive the origination of transactions, financial analysis, structuring, documentation and exercising of Credit Approval Discretion ("CAD") for Acquisition Finance transactions.
  • Uphold and implement ANZ Values, business principles and compliance measures by ensuring ongoing adherence.
  • Embed a strong culture of Risk and Compliance and managing of Non-Financial Risks.
What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Significant experience with deal origination, capital structure negotiation, credit negotiations, tiered loan structuring, due diligence and risk assessment, cashflow analysis/ modelling and transaction documentation.
  • Existing deep networks in the M&A, leveraged finance, private debt and Private Equity markets in Asia.
  • Proven origination track record in leveraged and acquisition financing in Asia.
  • Strong understanding of various legal structures for acquisition funding across multiple countries and legal jurisdictions.
  • An understanding of and experience with credit procedures and policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated capability in managing Senior Executive stakeholders across different countries and cultures.
  • Strategy development and execution skills including growth strategies into new markets.
  • Proven people leadership experience and skills.
  • Deep understanding of Corporate Finance product suite.
  • Familiarity with regional accounting, tax and regulatory rules affecting leveraged and acquisition financing transactions.
  • Good understanding of the relevant market, business, political, social and economic trends and challenges of the Asian region.
  • Extensive professional experience within the Banking & Finance sector.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Institutional and Corporate Finance businesses.
  • Keen understanding of the strategic, financial and operational aspects of business.
  • Strategic thinking coupled with strong execution and delivery focus.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with and/or lead individuals and teams.
  • Sense of urgency and is solution oriented to the delivery of work.
  • Strong written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
