Contract Part-time Assistant Social Work Officer (Patient Resource Centre) - Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH ) Rank Pay HK$39,485 to HK$87,341 (HGPS Point 16 to 33) per month including Monthly Allowance (To be pro-rated based on the total package and work pattern for a full-time Assistant Social Work Officer depending on the work hours) (See Remarks 2) Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance. Key Responsibilities Assist in the development, operation and administrative work of the Patient Resource Centre. Plan and organize various kinds of patient / carer support and empowerment programs. Facilitate the development & implementation of community engagement and partnership project. Work with multi-disciplinary health care professionals to plan and deliver the patient / carer support initiatives as well as evaluating its effectiveness. Perform any job-related duties assigned by senior. Entry Requirements A degree in Social Work from a local university, or equivalent. A degree from a local university, or equivalent and have successfully completed a one-year post-graduate course in Social Work at a local university, or equivalent. A degree from a local university, or equivalent and have successfully completed a two-year post-graduate course in Social Work or possess a Master’s degree in Social Work from a local university, or equivalent. Registration with and a valid registration certificate issued by the Hong Kong Social Workers Registration Board. Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese. Preferred Attributes/Exposure Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent. Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, or equivalent. Working experience in Patient Resources Centre/ Centre-based Services for family, children and youth. Commitment to patient care with empathy. Strong drive to help and utilize various social work approaches in patient care. Social work therapy skills. Proficient in interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in English writing. The required number of working hours is 19.5 hours per week. The selected candidate will be offered contract part-time employment for a period up to 1 year.
