The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (“HKTDC”), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, is looking for a dynamic and high caliber professional to join our Exhibitions and Digital Business Department.
Responsibilities:
- Leading a team to manage resources, maintain and execute policies, procedures, plans and systems in all aspects of operational duties for the trade fairs and public fairs in Hong Kong.
- Formulating operation strategies and developing strategic and contingency plans to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Preparing budget forecasts/scenario analysis, coordinating with cross-functional teams to exercise budgetary control and prepare financial reports.
- Conducting research, observing industry trends, providing strategic insights and identifying new development opportunities.
- Participating in the development and enhancement of the related IT System.
- Overseeing the full spectrum of event services including appointment and supervision of service vendors, cooperation with venue operators, and liaising with stakeholders.
- Implementing ad-hoc compliance measures in relation to new policies and regulations.
Requirements:
- A university degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration or Accounting.
- A minimum of 8 years’ solid managerial experience in marketing/business development. Experience in the exhibition industry is a definite advantage.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluent in Putonghua.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proven track record in operational planning and execution.
- Strong analytical and project management skills, able to handle multiple tasks with tight timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with strong leadership and team management skills.
Remuneration and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be offered a two-year contract with prospects for renewal upon expiry. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus an appropriate contract-end gratuity. Medical benefits and annual leave will be offered.
