Additionally, this role includes providing thorough training to all employees to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee the Risk and Compliance functions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures for the compliance program, ensuring they meet local legal and regulatory standards.
- Review the Regulatory, AML, and Data Protection requirements, ensuring compliance with local insurance broking and financial regulations (e.g., IA and MPFA).
- Facilitate the process of regulatory inspections and external/internal audits.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board, outlining compliance status, risks and recommendations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulator, managing communications and ensuring timely responses to regulatory inquiries.
- Work closely with business units and the executive management team to provide strategic leadership and high-level compliance advisory.
- Oversee and enhance the effectiveness of screening processes, such as ComplyAdvantage.
- Promote a culture of compliance by disseminating updated information and conducting strategic training sessions for staff.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:
- Degree holder in Business, Law, or other related disciplines.
- A minimum of 8 years' working experience in legal/compliance/risk management related area.
- Experience in insurance or the financial industry will be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge on KYC/AML/CTF framework, insurance ordinance and compliance practices.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- High integrity, meticulous, organised, and able to multi-task.
- Effective team player, capable of communicating well with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
YOUR BENEFITS AND SALARY:
- Commensurate with qualification and experience
- Working in a collaborative and upbeat environment with development opportunities
Yes, we offer all the usual rewards and benefits – including hybrid working, free beverage in workplace, competitive compensation, birthday leave, employee stock options and more – but we know you expect all that.
What you might not expect is a job where everyone has a voice, where volunteering in the community is part of the day job, and where everyone is encouraged to play a part towards our sustainability goals. We want people who want to make a difference - not just in the workplace, but in the industry and in the wider community.
Howden starts with people – a culture driving force in our work, pushing us to create a company we're proud of. One that leverages the power of insurance to shape a better future, for our clients and our communities.
Our culture:
People first
We have seen time and again that when we give our teams the space to perform and the support to grow, our clients reap the rewards.
