Senior Manager – Communications (Asia Pacific) The Senior Manager - Communications, Hong Kong will report to the Director of Global Media Relations as part of the firmwide Communications team to enhance and safeguard the Firm’s brand and reputation across Asia Pacific, via media and social media outreach, and provide communications advice and support for Firm leadership. Main responsibilities Develop and implement the Firm’s communication strategy across Asia Pacific, including China, and assist with broader international PR projects Develop and implement a media and social media relations plan for the Asia Pacific region, working in conjunction with other Comms and Marketing team members and BDMC in-market professionals Raise the Firm’s profile, as well as our practice and sector groups’ profiles, with agreed key target media (across business, national, legal and trade media) in Asia Pacific Promote agreed key spokespeople and Firm leadership to appropriate media and provide appropriate preparation and coaching Liaise with the media on a reactive and proactive basis Proactively pitch projects, new hires, key wins, trends etc. to key media targets, in alignment with the communications strategy Support with lateral hiring internal and external communications Provide issues/crisis management guidance and support, including appropriate internal and external communications Work with BDMC professionals in Asia Pacific to ensure media and social media activity is aligned and supportive of our Business Development strategy and activity Work closely with Marketing colleagues to assist in the roll out and execution of our international and regional marketing campaigns and thought leadership as well as other brand activities Support Asia Pacific Leadership with select leadership communications activities, e.g. regional town halls and newsletters Qualifications Strong experience in design and delivery of relevant external and internal communications, across multiple channels Experience of working in professional services or financial firm is preferred Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills, with additional Mandarin language skills preferred Strong understanding of, and familiarity with, the Chinese market and Chinese media and social media landscape Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal effectively with journalists, Firm leadership, lawyers and marketing/PR colleagues Extensive experience of dealing with the media and basic media relations tools and platforms (i.e., press releases, media briefing documents, talking points, statements, issues management, media training/coaching, media interviews, journalists’ databases, media monitoring platforms, etc.) Good understanding of social media platforms and tools, and familiar with other communications channels and technologies Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven role #J-18808-Ljbffr
