Job Description:

  • This role is responsible for having a deep understanding of the product management process and implementation in Asia, aiming to provide business requirements on simplification to improve operational efficiency for new product launches and ongoing product maintenance. The scope includes the end-to-end PDP process simplification from an operational perspective.

Preferred Skills:

  • Good knowledge of product implementation and thorough understanding of product management processes in the financial/insurance industry
  • Strong project management skills, consulting skills, and a detail-oriented mindset
  • Knowledge of product development and management processes and risk management tools
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Supervisory skills for managing a small team if needed

Qualifications:

  • Degree holder in business or a related discipline
  • Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma Green Belt), or proven track record in managing projects end-to-end successfully
  • Minimum 10 years of prior working experience in the insurance or related industries, preferably in product management or business management/operations
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision required and preferably familiar with product development process experience

Responsibilities:

  • Review and deep dive into the local BU Product Development Process (PDP) for Sun Life Asia and be accountable for recommending effective ways of executing PDP on time without sacrificing quality. Make appropriate recommendations to the BU and Asia Peer Review team on PDP Operating Guidelines aimed at achieving simplifications and efficiency improvements.
  • Identify pain points and review each step in the time motion of the product development cycle to identify and evaluate potential changes with relevant functions.
  • Work closely and collaborate with other team members under the Regional Office regarding the overall transformation change. On solution identification, the person will need to drive discussions on business requirements.
  • Monitor and measure the improvement of process changes on product implementation and end-to-end PDP.
