Senior Material Operations Supervisor

Applications are invited for the above vacancy in the Materials Management & Business Support Branch of Finance & Business Support Department. Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties: Responsibilities Implement material management policies and strategies to meet the Company’s needs at the best overall value Implement the action plan and carry out the work orders to drive stock optimization, develop short-term plan and regulate delivery of the materials to suit business needs Ensure that CLP as materials storage service supplier operates the business in accordance with all statutory regulations and internal practices Assist to evaluate, recommend and act as a Centre of Expertise to Business Unit managers on the most appropriate and cost effective way to perform materials storage and delivery services required to meet their operational and administrative business objectives Ensure relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures and codes of practice are followed Supervise, appraise, develop and motivate work teams to maximize their potential and to derive the optimal performance of the unit Prepare, review and recommend adjustments to financial, manpower and material resources required by the work unit to achieve its business objectives in the most efficient and cost effective manner Establish day to day short term program and resources deployment to meet regular and ad-hoc work load on all activities as well as to monitor work progress and budget Prepare documentation or report of work, project, operational status, including progress, cost and problem encountered Develop and implement innovative systems and solutions to transform the end to end material management process, ensuring it is streamlined, automated, and secure to effectively address evolving business requirements Analyse logistics data and generate reports and dashboards on inventory and warehouse operations information, provide valuable insights for review Monitor inventory accuracy (e.g., stock movement) and arrange cycle or full count for review and analysis Requirements A recognized university degree in Business Administration / Logistics Study / Supply Chain Management / Industrial and Systems Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent with at least 3 years relevant experience Higher Certificate / Higher Diploma holder in Business Administration / Logistics / Purchasing & Supply Study / Industrial and Systems Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience would also be considered Proficient in the use of ERP system (e.g. SAP and Oracle), PC and other computer applications (e.g. Excel, PowerBI) Relevant experience of data analysis experiences is an advantage Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and team-building skills as well as proven capability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English and Chinese Dedicated to continuous learning and implementing innovative systems and solutions to drive ongoing process enhancement Business-minded, performance-driven and result-oriented, able to develop staff and cultivate a continuous improvement culture Mindful and possess good safety knowledge and awareness Proactive, smart and willing to work under pressure, and with minimal supervision ABOUT CLP CLP was founded in Hong Kong in 1901, at a time when electricity was still a novelty worldwide.
