Position Overview Location: Hong Kong Department: Product Creation Reports To: Chief Product Officer Job Summary The Manager Product Development for apparel trims and accessories (e.g., elastics, drawcords, webbing, labels, etc.) leads a team in the end‑to‑end development of functional and decorative trim components. The role directs, develops, streamlines processes, and ensures that all trims meet design, quality, cost, and sustainability goals, aligning with brand standards and production timelines. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a keen eye for detail and problem‑solving skills while driving a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor and train the product development team in all aspects of the trim development process from concept to bulk production, ensuring timelines, quality, and cost targets are met. Build technical expertise and promote knowledge sharing within the Product Creations Team. Implement organizational strategies, including KPIs, business initiatives and team/personal goals. Provide direction and guidance to ensure designs are executed effectively, driving a solutions‑based mindset within the team. Lead initiatives to reduce development lead times, drive global sourcing strategies, and assess opportunities for waste reduction. Monitor and define standardized workflows, product documentation, and implement best practices for trim development. Partner with cross‑functional leaders to research and recommend new materials, technologies, and sustainable alternatives. Ensure all trims align to the customer‑specific performance standards (e.g., durability, washability, compliance) through rigorous testing protocols. Lead the creation of detailed trim specifications and maintain the JML trim library for internal reference. Ensure compliance with international regulations and brand sustainability mandates. Conduct risk assessments for trim applications. Partner with sampling/production teams to align trim strategies. Liaise with QC teams on quality reporting, pre‑production sample inspection, and resolve quality disputes through detailed Root Cause Analysis. Translate development data into clear, actionable insights and present findings to Senior Leadership. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or related field. 5–10 years in trim/fabric product development, preferably in the apparel industry. Technical Skills Proven track record of team leadership, development, and nurturing global customer relationships. Deep knowledge of trim manufacturing processes, materials, and international testing protocols. Proficiency in PLM systems, Technical Specifications, and Adobe software. Strong project management, negotiation, and risk assessment skills, with understanding of RCA and CAP processes. Ability to balance creativity with technical constraints and solutions‑focused outcomes. Bilingual communication (oral and written in both English and Chinese). Sustainability Focus Familiarity with global sustainability initiatives, circular design principles, and eco‑certifications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
