Sweater Product Development Manager/ Product Design Manager Add expected salary to your profile for insights About the role Our client is seeking an experienced Product Development Manager / Product Design Manager with a specialization in sweaters. In this pivotal role, you will conceptualize, design, and drive the development and innovation of sweater collections, delivering fashion-forward products that delight customers and strengthen brand identity. What you'll be doing Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from initial sampling to final production, across new and existing sweater collections. Lead and mentor a team of designers to translate creative concepts into commercially viable sweater products. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. Analyse market trends, customer feedback, sales data, and competitor insights to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Develop and implement effective production planning and scheduling strategies to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines. Present and pitch new sweater concepts to senior stakeholders to secure approval and investment. Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement within the product development team. What we're looking for 8+ years of experience (including 4+ years in a managerial role) in fashion design and product development, with a strong focus on sweater design and manufacturing. Higher Diploma or above in Knitwear Design and Technology, Sweater Design, Fashion Design, or a related field. Strong knowledge of yarn sourcing, colour, trends, customer preferences and competitive landscape. Excellent understanding of yarns qualities, knitting techniques, sweater construction, development, production processes and finishing for knitwear. Proven track record of developing and launching successful sweater collections with both commercial and critical success. Skilled in sketching and illustration; proficient in MS Office, with experience in Adobe Creative Suite and CAD programs. Passionate, creative, adaptable, organized, and detail-oriented, with strong commercial acumen. Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels. Fluent in spoken and written English; Mandarin and Cantonese are essential for local team communication. Immediate or short-notice availability is an advantage.
