ABOUT THE ROLE The General Trade Sales Manager for the OTC Business sector will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive sales strategies tailored to the general trade segment. This role focuses on cultivating essential client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and guiding the sales team to achieve targets within a dynamic marketplace. Collaboration with internal departments and leveraging data-driven insights are critical for aligning strategies with market demands, ultimately driving growth and profitability in the OTC sector. WHAT YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE Sales Strategy Development Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies specific to the Over-the-Counter (OTC) sector, with a primary focus on general trade sales. Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the general trade segment to drive revenue growth and expand market presence effectively. Strategic Account Management Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with critical accounts in the general trade sector to optimize sales opportunities and foster long-term partnerships. Develop tailored account management plans to address the unique needs of key clients, enhancing customer satisfaction and driving business growth. Team Leadership and Management Lead a sales team within the OTC business, offering guidance, training, and support to ensure the achievement of sales targets and objectives. Establish clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement and team success. Market Analysis and Strategy Adjustment Conduct in-depth market analysis to track industry trends, evaluate competitor activities, and identify emerging opportunities within general trade sales. Utilize market insights to adapt sales strategies, anticipate customer needs, and proactively respond to changes in the competitive landscape. Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with marketing and product development teams to align sales strategies with new product launches and promotional initiatives within the OTC business. Ensure seamless communication and coordination across departments to deliver a cohesive approach to sales and marketing efforts. Data Analysis and Reporting Utilize data analytics tools to analyze sales performance, track key performance indicators, and identify opportunities for enhancement within general trade sales. Prepare detailed sales reports, including sales forecasts, market trends, and competitor analysis, to support informed decision-making and drive sales success. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in Sales Management or Business Administration are a plus. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in sales, including 2-3 years in a managerial role within the OTC Business sector, with proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive sales strategies for the general trade segment. Strong leadership skills to effectively guide and motivate a sales team, demonstrating the ability to cultivate essential client relationships and identify opportunities for business expansion. Proficient in collaborating with internal departments and utilizing data-driven insights for informed decision-making that aligns with market demands to drive growth and profitability. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, along with experience in data analysis tools and CRM systems for sales optimization. Familiarity with OTC market trends, regulations, and the competitive landscape, with a strong network within the OTC Business sector. Experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies in a competitive market environment.
