Role Overview
We're seeking a Korean Language Specialist to join our dynamic content team in Hong Kong. This role combines linguistic expertise with strategic content development to serve WGSN's Korean market.

In this role, you will manage and maintain WGSN's Korean content, including reports, site updates and digital assets. Your expertise will be essential in creating engaging content that captures WGSN's distinctive brand voice, along with developing marketing materials across multiple platforms. Your work will span WGSN's comprehensive portfolio, producing localized content across Fashion, Beauty, Consumer Tech, Food & Drinks, Interior, and Sports & Outdoor verticals. This broad scope requires a deep understanding of industry trends and terminology across these diverse sectors.

Success in this role requires strong partnership with Marketing, Design, Tech, and Product teams. You will support machine learning initiatives alongside our Product and Technology teams, while contributing to workflow optimization for improved efficiency. Your expertise in implementing industry-specific terminology will ensure clear communication across all stakeholders.

As a key member of our content team, you'll shape WGSN's presence in the Korean market while contributing to our digital transformation initiatives. Your work will directly influence how our Korean audience experiences and interacts with WGSN's market-leading content and tools.

The team
Our global localization team comprises multilingual professionals across international markets. We deliver precise, culturally-informed translation solutions that enable effective cross-border communication and support organizational scalability. As linguistic architects, we harness state-of-the-art AI translation technologies to ensure our content not only speaks to diverse audiences but truly connects with them. Our mission is to craft digital narratives that resonate on a global scale and create an inclusive digital ecosystem.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage translated Korean content for various verticals and brand-related marketing materials, ensuring the tone of voice, ideas, and concepts are accurately and consistently conveyed in the target language using culturally appropriate terminology.
  • Collaborate with internal Product and Tech teams to assist machine learning development and customize suitable workflows for Korean language.
  • Co-manage linguistic resources: 6 glossaries and 2 style guides. Develop and maintain documentation and best practices, ensuring terminology consistency across localized content.
  • Monitor content quality and implement necessary changes to improve the in-house machine translation system. Review WGSN content compatibility with MT to tailor editing approaches.
  • Guide freelancers by offering instructions, constructive feedback, and keeping support materials up-to-date. Effectively communicate and collaborate across teams to ensure the smooth execution of Korean localized multimedia content (video, marketing collateral, etc).
  • Report regularly on project status to localization managers, and support communication with the Korean commercial team.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Must be a native Korean speaker with an exceptional command of Korean and English research, reading and writing – skilled in transcreating and localization editing from English to Korean.
  • Prior experience with machine translation API such as DeepL, Google, Amazon, Bing and post-editing. Prioritize and organize tasks under tight deadlines while demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with flexible work hours working across regions and time zones, and collaborating virtually with teams and freelancers. Your manager will be based on the West Coast, USA.
  • Self-starter and proactive communicator who is passionate about sharing knowledge and connecting with people and ideas. Technical skills: usage proficiency in Apple computer and Google tools, including a base understanding of data analytics, is desired.
