For each asset class, ICAP offers e-trading capability, giving clients the option to enter prices and execute trades directly via one of our hybrid electronic trading systems, or to engage with brokers who can identify and negotiate trades

Role Overview

In this role, you will serve as a Korean broker specializing in engagement with Korean banks and financial institutions across key indices including the KOSPI, HSCEi, and Nikkei. Your primary focus will be on volatility and delta-1 products, ensuring that you offer expert insights and tailored solutions to your clients.

Building and maintaining strong relationships is crucial; you will achieve this through regular, meaningful interactions, including quarterly trips to Seoul to strengthen client trust.

Daily communication through Bloomberg chat and phone will be essential in gauging client interests and securing valuable pricing information. Your deep understanding of market dynamics and pricing will enable you to effectively address client needs and maximize engagement.

Role Responsibilities
  • Arrange or introduce trades from client orders
  • Develop existing and new client relationships.
  • Understand the business objectives of clients.
  • Understand the underlying products being traded by clients and keep up to date with new products and procedures, and regulatory, execution and clearing (if applicable) requirements for those products.
  • Develop new business with existing clients and on-board new clients/traders.
  • Seek to increase the overall revenue of your desk.
  • Maintain an updated knowledge of the products and markets in which you work; actively solicit feedback from industry participants through various means, including trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows and conferences
  • Understand the desk's business strategy and seek to identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients
  • On-board new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding team
  • Assess client needs and financial conditions to identify internal cross selling opportunities
  • Understand pertinent regulation within the evolving regulatory landscape
  • Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with group policies
  • Exercise independent judgement and act with integrity, care, skill and diligence to avoid conflicts of interest and escalate issues as appropriate
Competence/Experience

Essential:
  • Understands ideas and has a viewpoint on the markets and economy. Some knowledge in financial markets is essential
  • Willingness to engage with internal and external stakeholders outside of the immediate desk environment.
  • Bilingual language skills in Korean and English
  • University graduate
