Head of Insurance (Wealth Management)

Position Overview

We are assisting a wealth management company in their search for an experienced Head of Insurance to lead their insurance brokerage practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the Responsible Officer (RO) and manage a small team dedicated to internal sales of insurance products. This individual will play a key role in shaping the strategy and direction of the insurance offerings while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Lead the insurance sales team, managing day-to-day operations and building a high-performing team.
  2. Serve as the Responsible Officer for the insurance practice, ensuring compliance with regulations and updating internal guidelines and handbooks as necessary.
  3. Develop and implement sales strategies to enhance the performance of insurance products and achieve business objectives.
  4. Collaborate with Relationship Managers (RMs) to support their sales efforts, providing insights and assistance with client engagement.
  5. Oversee the internal brokerage of insurance products while ensuring quality service for all clients.
  6. Assess market trends and client needs to identify opportunities for product development and expansion.
  7. Provide mentorship and guidance to the insurance consultant within the team.

Position Requirements

  1. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the insurance or financial services sector, with a strong background in sales.
  2. Prior experience in a brokerage firm is essential, with a proven track record of driving sales and managing teams.
  3. Must hold a valid RO license and have a deep understanding of the insurance industry's regulatory environment.
  4. Strong sales acumen and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  6. Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with clients from various regions.
