The Professional Education and Commercial Development Manager for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore (THS) plays a dual role in supporting the commercial teams and professional education efforts across the region. This hybrid position blends responsibilities from commercial learning and development as well as professional education and development to elevate both internal and external stakeholders. The role focuses on executing high-impact training programs, coaching, and supporting commercial teams, while also leading initiatives to educate eyecare professionals (ECPs) with the purpose of owning the professional recommendation.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, culturally aware professional with a passion for learning and professional education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams and markets.
Job Responsibilities
Commercial Learning & Development (Territory Responsibility: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore) 60%
Execute international and localized training programs to enhance the skills of commercial teams (sales, account management, business development) across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore. Customize and adapt global training content to meet the market-specific needs and cultural nuances of the region. Collaborate with regional and global L&D teams to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives. Provide coaching and development support to commercial teams, promoting growth in sales performance and customer engagement. Identify training gaps, proposing tailored solutions to enhance skills and drive performance across different market segments. Leverage technology platforms (LMS, CRM) to track, manage, and report on training initiatives and outcomes.Professional Education & Development (Territory Responsibility: Hong Kong) 40%
Lead the development and execution of professional education programs targeting eyecare professionals (ECPs), including optometrists, ophthalmologists, opticians and any other key stakeholders. Ensure alignment with international education initiatives, customizing content for local relevance and industry compliance. Partner with marketing, key account managers, and clinical teams to deliver comprehensive ECP training on Alcon’s product portfolio, including contact lenses, dry eye, ocular health, and lens care. Facilitate workshops, seminars, and events aimed at elevating professional knowledge and enhancing clinical best practices among healthcare professionals. Monitor and evaluate the impact of educational programs on customer knowledge and engagement, continuously improving based on feedback and market trends.Deliver and implement the pre-launch education and communication strategy and key tactics for NPL readiness (such as, pre-launch communication and market preparation, thought leader and advocate engagement, podium opportunities, key ECP activation and educational initiatives) for the market. Develop & manage relationships with HCP Influencers and Thought Leaders within local market, major industry influencers, professors, organizations/associations, educational institutions & researchers to be at the forefront of the industry & gain leading edge knowledge of practitioner and industry insights to influence business and commercial planning. Stay informed of trends and new developments in the optical and medical industries, integrating them into the professional education approach.

Qualifications/Skills
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. Excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of engaging a diverse range of audiences. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and levels, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience working in multicultural, cross-functional teams in a geographically dispersed environment. Strong project management skills; able to handle multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines. Technologically proficient with familiarity in LMS, CRM, and other digital tools. Proficiency in English; Mandarin or Cantonese is a strong advantage.Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Optomoetry, Business, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Background in the optical, pharmaceutical, or medical technology industries is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of experience in learning and development, professional education, or sales management within healthcare. Experience with Alcon’s product portfolio or a similar industry preferred.
