Reporting to the Head of HNW Underwriting, the Senior Manager will deliver fair and consistent underwriting decisions that are based on PHKL's Underwriting philosophy, deliver strong mortality results that are consistent with expectations, while maintaining a relentless Client Focus.

Job Description:

To perform timely, accurate and comprehensive risk assessment on HNW products and HNW business according to own underwriting authority. To lead the HNW case management to ensure to smoothness of end-to-end underwriting process. To negotiate with reinsurers for best offer for benefit of customers during facultative underwriting To manage, build, and nourishes a proactive, positive, and productive relationship with various sales channels, including case managers to ensure all client relationships are fostered and the team meets our frontline’s high expectations. To provide high quality underwriting service with effective communications for different sales channels. To take on ad-hoc projects and liaise with different parties to streamline, enhance underwriting processes and guidelines. Update underwriting procedure manual is required. To participate in HNW product development, data analysis, preparation of reports and other underwriting support functions. To sustain a Culture of Compliance supporting a thorough and robust Client Due Diligence process including clear case documentation and record keeping.  To monitor and control the operation performance to ensure the Company’s rules and regulations are complied. Regular audit exercise is expected. To contribute to the team to become a Centre of Competence in all areas of risk selection, providing training and guidance to new team members / team.

Job Requirements:

Solid track record in the underwriting field with minimum 10 years relevant experience in life insurance underwriting of which 3 years in supervisory role. Minimum 5 years underwriting experience exclusively in HNW products, with HNW authority at USD 10 - 15 Million level is preferred Professional qualification in Life Insurance including FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute) Experience in product development, business administration and client relationship management Excellent communication and negotiation skills University Degree in any disciplines Good command of English, Cantonese and Putonghua PC literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
