Major Duties

: The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services. Requirements : The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree, preferably a Doctoral degree, in Building Services Engineering or related disciplines. He/she should possess at least 4-year practical and substantial design, operation and management experience in the building services engineering industry and/or teaching experience in relevant modules at tertiary level. He/she should demonstrate the ability to prepare teaching materials and effectively deliver at least one of the following modules: (a) Fundamentals of AI and Data Analytics (b) Engineering Ethics & Safety Management (c) Indoor Environment & HVAC Systems (d) Lighting Technology (e) Piped Services (f) Fire Services (g) Advanced Electrical Technology (h) Basics of BIM (i) BIM for MEP (j) Design for Operation & Maintenance (k) Building Automation & Control (l) Building Energy & Carbon Assessment (m) Project & Engineering Management (n) Facility Management (o) Vertical Transportation Systems in Buildings (p) Computational Fire Modelling (q) Legislative Aspects of Fire Safety Management He/she should have good interpersonal and communication skills, and high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a membership of professional institutions such as the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage. Notes : (1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary. (2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. (3) The appointee will work on Tsing Yi Campus.
