Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Part-time Lecturer in Chinese and Putonghua to join our team at the Vocational Training Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Chinese language and culture courses to students, as well as developing curriculum and teaching materials.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach Chinese language and culture courses to students
- Develop and implement curriculum and teaching materials
- Supervise students' projects and fieldwork placement
- Participate in departmental projects and functions, including consultancy services, research studies, seminars, and exhibitions

Requirements

- A recognized degree in Chinese Language, Chinese Language and Literature, Language Studies (Chinese), Chinese Linguistics, or Education (Chinese), with post-graduate qualifications preferred
- A recognized degree in Translation or Teaching Chinese as a Second Language or as a Foreign Language, with a transcript provided for consideration
- Grade B, Level 2 or above in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) - Putonghua Proficiency Test, or a pass in the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua) administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessments Authority (HKEAA) or equivalent
- At least 3 years' relevant teaching experience
- Good communication and presentation skills

Notes

- Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of Part-time Assistant Lecturer in the rank of Teaching Associate
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment
- The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and/or outside campus
