Job Summary

The Vocational Training Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Part-time Lecturer to join our team in the field of Data Analytics. As a Part-time Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching and related learning activities, supporting students in their learning, and participating in academic and scholarly activities of the Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and develop curriculum for Data Analytics courses
  • Support students in their learning, including grading assignments and exams
  • Participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, including research and publication
  • Undertake academic and administrative support services, including departmental meetings and committee work
  • Design and implement experiments and projects in Data Analytics

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Electronic Commerce, Internet Computing, Multimedia, or related fields
  • At least 4 years of professional working and/or teaching experience at tertiary level in Data Analytics, database management (SQL), Python programming, R programming language, geographic information system (GIS), SimaPro software (LCA), SuperPro Designer software (Intelligen), machine learning prediction, Raspberry Pi/STM32Arduino, and/or experience in professional practice in the field of Data Science, Data Engineering, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • High proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua
  • Familiarity with and ability to deliver lectures on Enhancing query performance and efficiency in relational database, Handling transactions and restoring data after systems failure, Methods for creating and utilizing indexes in database, Process database queries in parallel to improve performance, Systems for managing and processing large amounts of data, utilizing technologies such as TablePlus, Hadoop, and Spark, Databases that do not utilize the traditional relational model, such as NoSQL systems, Manage the database through replication, sharding, clustering, partitioning, indexing, caching, and compression, and The uses and applications of ArcGIS database

  • The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts, and on Saturdays and Sundays
