Job Description - Head of Commercial Strategy (Capital Works) (Ref.: 240001VS)We are looking for aspiring and suitably qualified individuals to join our Capital Works Business Unit (CWBU), where we work with our stakeholders to create sustainable transport solutions for the community, and we care for our staff and provide a great place to work.Responsibilities

Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive contract procurement strategies, ensuring timely procurement to support effective project delivery;Lead the central commercial team in establishing standardised methods for cost validation and assessment of compensation events, ensuring compliance and consistency across projects;Manage commercial issues from a holistic perspective, considering the broader impacts and minimizing cost risks to contracts and projects;Provide strategic contractual and commercial advice to project teams, ensuring consistent commercial management of contracts and projects in line with corporate and Business Unit priorities;Lead the team in supporting submission of documentation related to contractual, commercial or cost impacts, including compensation events;Assist in the initial stages of disputes arising under or in connection with contracts, and lead and coordinate adjudication matters under contracts or pursuant to security for payment legislation;Serve as the primary interface to ensure holistic management of matters that transcend the commercial and Project Management Office workstreams, fostering seamless collaboration and integration;Lead and build a high-performing and agile commercial management team, develop and implement strategies for upskilling, capability enhancement, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Requirements

Degree in Engineering, Business Management or a related discipline;A minimum of 25 years of relevant experience, of which at least 10 years in a commercial management role in railway or large-scale capital works projects;Possess strong technical knowledge of various facets of commercial management in multi-disciplinary environments;Corporate Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent body.Remarks

Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms.
