About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our Equity Research team in Hong Kong. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting our macro thematic team in uncovering emerging themes in Asia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct analysis on emerging investment themes across sectors, researching and presenting data in a commercial manner
  • Write content to create thought-provoking investment reports
  • Engage directly with regional and global institutional clients, participate in client events, and support sales and client requests
  • Collaborate with internal teams and engage external stakeholders to gather data using financial systems like Bloomberg, Factset, and WIND
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in economics, finance, journalism, or a similar discipline
  • 2+ years' relevant experience in fast-paced financial institutions, including sell-side research, buy-side research, investment banking, or similar environments
  • Experience covering macro, ESG, and/or thematic research would be an advantage
  • Strong quantitative skills and numerical literacy, with a track record of working collaboratively across internal teams and engaging external stakeholders
  • An engaging storyteller with exceptional writing skills and the ability to communicate ideas succinctly in English
  • A self-motivated, inquisitive, and flexible lateral thinker with a can-do attitude, a strong drive to succeed, and willingness to learn
