Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our WPB Business Risk Management Department. As a key member of the management team, you will play a vital role in driving the formulation of business strategies and managing business performance. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Support Formulation, Agreement, and Implementation of Strategic Plans
  • Cost Structure Transformation and Management
  • Risk Governance
  • Fraud Management and Operations Oversight

You will have great exposure to the management of key business risk and opportunities, equipping you with experience and knowledge needed to manage and coordinate cross-business activities in WPB, including interacting with and influencing management teams across countries, regulators, and other stakeholders. All with an aim to ensure all processes, functions, and services within the business are aligned to group policy and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The job holder is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks across the Wealth & Personal Banking business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with business units and senior management to ensure effective risk management practices are in place and risks are within the bank's risk appetite.
  • Supporting the management of WPB business risk management governance, framework, policies, and processes to safeguard WPB from current and emerging risks.
  • Coordinating with all WPB Business Units on risk management and regulatory activities.
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring business units comply with regulations and internal policies.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key risk indicators, risk events, and risk exposures for the WPB business.
  • Leading business risk management projects and coordinating implementation across WPB.
  • Driving a strong risk culture across the WPB business.
  • Collaborating with other risk management functions to ensure a holistic view of risk.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university graduate with a minimum of 8 years' working experience in risk management within the banking or financial services industry, with a focus on retail banking.
  • Proven experience in risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to drive a diverse group, including internal and external partners.
  • Project management skill with a track record in managing multiple priorities.
  • Attentiveness to details, self-motivated, and strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Cantonese.
