Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements.
  • Design and develop robust technical solutions that meet business objectives, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to enhance system capabilities and improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate timelines, flag potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain high standards of quality in code development, adhering to best practices in version control, CI/CD, and release management.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of system designs, support procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct rigorous unit testing and pre-deployment checks to ensure the highest quality of deliverables.
  • Liaise with production support teams to manage releases, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Take on additional project-related tasks as needed to drive project success.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, preferably with honors.
  • At least 5-8 years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably in FICC or financial services.
  • Proficiency in Java and Python 3, with expertise in frameworks like Spring or Vert.x.
  • Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving, ensuring data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks and software development best practices, adhering to industry standards.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative mindset, driving team cohesion and excellence.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with market data APIs (Bloomberg/Reuters), leveraging their potential for business growth.
  • Experience with scripting languages and Agile methodologies, ensuring adaptability and responsiveness.
  • Ability to balance business-driven development with technical refinements, delivering solutions that meet both needs.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin, enhancing communication with global stakeholders.
