Job Overview

We are on the hunt for a talented Research Scientist Team Lead to join our growing team. As a key member, you will contribute to and manage research in TCM development, driving innovative formulation technologies and promoting health and wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of Scientists in formulating new health products in various oral forms, including capsules, sachets, and tablets. Hands-on laboratory work is required.
  • Participate in ITF projects and post-ITF developments for novel traditional Chinese medicines.
  • Develop new research technologies in novel formulation techniques for TCM health products.
  • Conduct literature searches, source new equipment, and write proposals and funding applications.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during technology transfer processes.
  • Perform formulation characterization, including moisture content, particle size analysis, microscopic observation, and more.
  • Communicate with various departments on technology transfer development and commercialization of health products, assay content, and dissolution experiments.
  • Maintain workflow and provide training to staff, including sourcing vendors, developing formulations, scaling-up, and performing technology transfers.
  • Support R&D activities, including product claim support through literature searches.
  • Hold hands-on participation in formulation experiments and other activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chinese Medicines, Food Science, Nutritional Science, Botany, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • A keen sense of taste and chemical knowledge in health supplements, Traditional Chinese Medicine ingredients, and tea.
  • Familiarity with TCM properties and functions is highly appreciated.
  • No less than five years of experience in technical development in the food/FMCG industry. Leadership experience in scientific areas will also be considered.
  • Strong team working, time management, and project management skills.
