About the Role

The Deputy Director, Governance and Regulatory Affairs is a critical leadership position at the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). As a member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Institute's governance and regulatory affairs strategy.

In this role, you will work closely with the Director of the Department and other key stakeholders to ensure that the Institute's governance framework is effective and compliant with regulatory requirements. You will also provide critical support to the Council and relevant committees in reviewing and updating the Institute's constitution, policies, and practices on governance and regulatory matters.

Key Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in managing a sizeable team, with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Strong subject matter expertise in governance and regulatory requirements, as well as policy development.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo, anticipate and lead change, and take initiatives.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua an advantage.
  • Collaboration and Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, with strong organizational, project management, and negotiation skills.
