About the Role:

We are seeking a Chief Engineer to join our team at Island Shangri-La Hong Kong. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all plant rooms, kitchens, and outlets, as well as maintaining compliance with local fire safety codes and regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance plans to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance
  • Manage repair, maintenance work, and facilities management functions to guarantee seamless operations
  • Regularly inspect plant rooms, kitchens, and outlets, identifying defects for prompt rectification
  • Evaluate and improve FLS systems to meet local fire safety codes and regulations, planning and implementing inspections, testing, and maintenance
  • Supervise fire and smoke compartments, including escape ways, to maintain a safe working environment
  • Deliver departmental training, including Fire and Life Safety, to internal staff

Requirements:

  • Degree holder or above in Building Service, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in Building/Hotel operations
  • Familiarity with government ordinances and regulations
  • Recognized certification in performing fire safety engineering
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and training skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese
