Our mission is to realise the vision of making the West Kowloon Cultural District a world-class cultural hub. We are seeking a highly skilled Curator of Exhibitions and Cultural Events to join our team.
About the Role:
This role involves working closely with the Palace Museum and other major museums to develop and execute exhibitions that showcase the unique collections and artefacts of the Palace Museum. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of exhibition planning, from concept development to installation and de-installation. They will also work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that exhibitions meet the company's standards and expectations.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing exhibition concepts, including proposal writing, budgeting, and scheduling;
- Coordinating with the Palace Museum and other major museums on exhibition logistics;
- Ensuring that exhibitions meet the company's standards and expectations;
- Managing the exhibit list, shipping schedules, display requirements, and security provisions;
- Preparing all correspondence and exhibition-related documentation.
Requirements:
- A recognised university degree in relevant fields such as art history, museum studies, arts administration, or cultural management;
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in exhibition planning, management, and execution or project experience gained in a similar organisation;
- Proven experience in preparing and negotiating agreements/contracts, as well as handling license/permit applications;
- Relevant experience in handling, packing/crating, transportation, insurance, security, installation/rotation/de-installation processes;
- Excellent organisational and diplomatic skills, as well as personnel management skills when working with large teams;
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English and Chinese, preferably with knowledge of Putonghua.
