Job Summary


The Finance Office of the City University of Hong Kong is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Operations Assistant. The appointee will be responsible for performing various financial tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.


Key Responsibilities



  • Process vendor payments, staff disbursements, and student activities payments
  • Handle accounts receivable, including issuance of invoices and collection of fees and charges
  • Process payroll and benefit payments for full-time and part-time staff
  • Assist in monthly processes for contribution to ORSO/MPF schemes and prepare tax returns
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries, schedules, and bank account reconciliation
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements



  • 5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE, including English Language, Chinese Language, and Mathematics, with at least 6 years' relevant experience
  • Proficiency in PC applications and strong Excel skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
  • Self-motivation and attention to detail are required
  • Hands-on experience in Oracle Financials, Banner Students/Payroll, or other ERP systems is preferred

Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Accounting Officer II.


Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.


Remuneration and Conditions of Service


The remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract, with fringe benefits including gratuity, leave, medical, and dental schemes.
