The Department of History is looking to appoint an Assistant Professor of Teaching.
The successful candidate will primarily focus on teaching and managing the Core Curriculum course titled China in World History (CCC8014).
This course provides a comprehensive overview of world history, emphasizing China's historical contributions from ancient times to the present, and is mandatory for all undergraduate students.
Candidates with expertise in world history and teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Those with specialized knowledge in any period of Chinese history will have a distinct advantage.Additionally, the appointee may teach courses related to their area of expertise and supervise capstone projects after fulfilling their responsibilities for the Core Curriculum course.
General Requirements
Applicants should possess a PhD in a relevant field by the time of appointment, demonstrating excellence in classroom instruction, course design, and curricular innovation within a university context.
Evidence of contributions to the scholarship of teaching, including teaching-related publications and conference presentations, will be viewed favorably.
The teaching load is set at 24 credit hours annually, with the majority dedicated to the Core Curriculum course China in World History.
Appointment Details
The terms of appointment will be competitive, with rank and remuneration aligned with qualifications and experience.
