Lingnan University is a leading liberal arts institution in Asia, committed to providing high-quality education and conducting impactful research. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Lecturer in the Centre for English and Additional Languages.

The Centre for English and Additional Languages is responsible for enhancing the English language skills of Lingnan students and providing language support to help students succeed in their academic studies and future careers. We offer a range of courses, including English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP), as well as co-curricular language activities.

We are looking for a Lecturer who can teach, develop, and coordinate courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The appointee will also be responsible for performing administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant experience (at least 8 years for Senior Lecturer) in teaching at the university level, preferably to students of humanities, social sciences, and/or business studies;
  • A master's degree or above, and a doctoral degree is preferred;
  • A qualification in teaching English as a second/additional language is preferred;
  • An excellent command of English;
  • Preferably expertise/interest in one or two of the following areas: development of web-based interactive materials, flipped/blended learning, teaching of speaking, and language assessments.

The conditions of appointment will be competitive, with a rank and remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity, and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. Appointment will normally be made on a contract basis for three years.
