The role is designed for a dedicated desk analyst specializing in the Indian markets within the Global Financing & Credit Trading (GFCT) APAC division. Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Desk Analyst encompass, but are not limited to:

Research Responsibilities:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the credit being analyzed, including all associated regulatory and legal considerations and risks
  • Assume primary responsibility for the credit and serve as the liaison between Sourcing, Execution, and Trading & Sales
  • Identify lucrative business prospects, such as undervalued or overvalued companies
  • Produce comprehensive and precise Risk 1 Pagers on a weekly basis
  • Present Risk 1 Pagers during weekly Analyst meetings as necessary
  • Comprehend the implications of the company's jurisdiction on creditor and stakeholder interests
  • Collaborate with other Desk Analysts to share relevant information about names within the same industry or legal framework

Trading Responsibilities:

  • Assist Sourcing teams in educating banks and potential sellers
  • Collaborate with the Risk Manager to develop a strategy for client and salesperson engagement
  • Aid Traders in managing risk by providing timely and accurate credit information
  • Draft credit limit approval communications
  • Summarize discussions and client perspectives in follow-up emails to Traders and Sales personnel
  • Update Traders, Sales, and Sourcers during morning meetings regarding credit updates and new business ideas
  • Provide Desk Execution and Desk Operations with summaries of voting events
  • Work alongside sourcing teams to compile a list of creditors for each credit

This role is primarily conducted on-site, adhering to relevant health and safety protocols.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree from a prestigious institution, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in credit analysis or related fields (corporate finance, credit/equity research, credit risk management, etc.)
  • A robust network in India and experience managing loan financing processes (primary, secondary, and distressed)
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a solid understanding of accounting and financial modeling
  • Experience interacting with senior finance executives from large corporations, issuers, and institutional investors, including hedge funds and banks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • An interest in developing trade ideas and working closely with traders
