About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Asset Management sector team as an Assistant Manager. This role will be responsible for assisting the management and delivery of our sector and account management programme, focused on supporting key account teams in developing, growing, and managing key asset management accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the sector planning and management process, working closely with the asset management leadership team to drive and increase KPMG's market share in the asset management ecosystem.
  • Act as the central point for knowledge and information related to the asset management sector, maintaining regular contact with global and regional asset management peers to stay abreast of the latest developments.
  • Coordinate asset management strategic initiatives to achieve set targets and goals, working closely with senior team members of the wider asset management team.
  • Support key asset management priority account and growth target pots teams when they go-to-market and prepare for client pitches and presentations, sharing sector insights and expertise.
  • Update the KPMG China asset management sector portal page, both internal and external, containing key sector credentials and relevant client-facing material.
  • Work closely with the wider Markets team on go-to-market marketing, events, and publications related to asset management.
  • Assist with the annual business development budget, managing and reviewing costs to ensure they are kept within the allocated budget for the financial year.
  • Facilitate the creation and collation of key sector credentials spanning our range of KPMG propositions.
  • Plan and prepare material for the monthly sector leadership meeting.
  • Support the development of client proposals and pitches, as well as presentation materials.
  • Facilitate KPMG's Client Care Program annually for the sector, managing outcomes and passing on future action plans to relevant Account Lead Partners and CSTs.
  • Assist in putting together asset management meetings, including preparing presentation materials, taking notes, and action points.
  • Review and disseminate market intel from industry-leading publications relevant to the funds industry.
  • Research and evaluate economic, competitor, market, industry, and client growth trends.
  • Work with the asset management leadership team to identify potential business opportunities.
Relationship/Pipeline Management for Key Asset Management Accounts and Pots
  • Work with colleagues in Hong Kong, China, and the wider ASPAC region.
  • Work with key Client Service Teams (CSTs) to develop and track the client relationship strategy, and plan touchpoint actions to strengthen relationships.
  • Develop an understanding of services and solutions to determine which initiatives would be of relevance and importance to key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Help identify business opportunities for account teams through understanding client imperatives and marketing initiatives.
  • Help build an effective internal firm-wide network that enables the role holder to bring the most appropriate expertise to bear on individual clients' needs.
  • Help foster the asset management community in KPMG China by supporting regular town halls and the release of sector updates.
  • Be part of the wider Markets community by sharing insights and knowledge.
  • Help manage and maintain the integrity of the sector pipeline.
Requirements
  • University graduate with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in a professional services/financial services/asset management organization would be an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-conscious, pro-active, hard-working, and resilient.
  • Self-driven and creative with the ability to take on multiple activities and tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with flexibility to adapt to different working styles of senior stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Office suite is essential.
  • Proven people and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English, proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is desirable.
