Job Title: Manager/Associate Director, Data Privacy and Protection, Technology Consulting

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager or Associate Director to join our Data Privacy and Protection team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing risks, identifying gaps, and providing advice on data protection and privacy for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team to assess risks and identify gaps in data protection and privacy practices
  • Evaluate data privacy and data protection practices of our clients
  • Develop and manage relationships with data protection and privacy stakeholders
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Deploy processes to manage privacy matters and stay compliant with relevant regulations
  • Collaborate with data governance engagements across the full set of capabilities at KPMG
  • Identify and communicate engagement findings to management and client personnel
  • Work on multiple client engagements of varying size, scope, and complexity
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Law, or a related field
  • Technology-related qualification holder on Privacy and Data Protection certifications (CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in data privacy and data protection, ideally in a professional services environment or internal consultancy function
  • Profound knowledge of data protection regulations, including Hong Kong's PDPO, European's GDPR, and China's Personal Data Protection Law
  • Understanding of data privacy, confidentiality, and data protection from a process and risk perspective
  • Experience with performing privacy impact assessments, privacy compliance assessments, and designing data privacy policies and guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
