About Our Job
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Museum Projects Coordinator - Curatorial Affairs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of our Chinese object study training programme.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing workshops, lectures, and study visits;
- Coordinating day-to-day administrative tasks, including preparing project memos and plans, emails, and letters;
- Preparing and monitoring budgets, tracking project financials, and providing analysis and reports;
- Managing project calendars and tracking progress;
- Collaborating with our Learning and Engagement team to plan and implement public-facing projects related to the HKPM's Chinese object study training programme;
- Serving as a liaison between the HKPM and sponsors, stakeholders, and scholars;
- Helping to build a network of academics, professors, university graduate students, sponsors, and building strong relationships with them;
You will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced team and contribute to the development of our Chinese object study training programme.
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A recognised university degree in a relevant field, such as Chinese art history and archaeology, heritage/collection management, conservation/conservation science, or culture studies;
- Strong interests in Chinese art and culture, and preferably some knowledge about working directly with art objects in museums, universities, or other organisations;
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in conducting research, teaching, or project/event management;
- Proficiency in office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat;
- Good problem-solving skills and communication skills;
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese with good command of Putonghua;
- Able to pay attention to details and be self-motivated and organised;
- Available to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays, for events if necessary.
