Job Posting Details

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join its Treasury team. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the University's working capital and monitoring of the long-term investments by its endowment funds and Superannuation Schemes.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's or higher degree with a recognized professional accounting qualification and/or a CFA holder. They will also have at least 5 years of relevant working experience at managerial level in an endowment/foundation, international fund house or finance/private banking. The successful candidate will have comprehensive corporate treasury knowledge in banking operations, cash management, investment performance measurement/analysis and accounting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in setting investment policies of the University's funds and Superannuation Schemes
  • Analysis and reporting of investment performance
  • Accounting and allocation of investment income
  • Medium- to long-term cash and financial projection
  • Assisting in the development of treasury policies and day-to-day working capital planning and surplus funds investment
  • Management of banking relationship and oversight of performance of approved banks and compliance of counterparty limits
  • Evaluating and implementing best practices to the University's treasury operations
  • Supervising and developing treasury staff

The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills in presenting reports and proposals to senior management and the University's governing bodies. They will also be a good team player with exceptional analytical, communication and problem solving skills.
