Construction Project Manager, Travel Retail Asia Pacific

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with local architects, vendors, and technical teams to ensure projects are completed within budget and time constraints, meeting Hermès quality standards.
  • Work with the Hermès Travel Retail team to define project programs and requirements.
  • Collect and analyze project data, including budget, technical documents, and sustainability aspects.
  • Coordinate with architects and vendors to ensure projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicate closely with the Hermès Travel project team to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including contract management, invoice payment, and vendor record-keeping.
  • Perform site visits to ensure projects meet quality and timeline expectations.
  • Develop strong relationships with Facilities and Maintenance teams for direct stores.
  • Report cost discrepancies and schedule issues to the Managing Construction Manager.

Budget and Financial Management:

  • Develop cost estimates for projects.

Decision Making and Collaboration:

  • Assist in vendor selection and contract negotiations with the Construction Project Manager.

Requirements and Capabilities:

  • 5 years of experience in construction, project management, or engineering design.
  • 4 years of architecture degree or equivalent in engineering or construction discipline.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin) and good command of written and spoken English.
  • Analytical mindset with budget or cost control experience.
  • International open mindset.
  • Understanding of high-end retail environment with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Team player with excellent organization and administrative skills.
  • Good knowledge of local codes and regulations.
  • Experience with vendor management, with a preference for project management experience in China.
  • Microsoft Office tools and AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Regular travel requirements.
